I recently got my paws on an acapella of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights”, and began testing it out over various beats in my collection. The instrumental to Jazmine Sullivan’s ”Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles)” seemed to compliment “Lights” with interesting harmony. This is the resulting blend.
At 100 bpm, its tempo is slightly faster than the original “Holding You Down” (95 bpm) and quite a bit slower than the original “Lights” (120 bpm). I found this speed to be a good compromise between the two. I include a few scratches before dropping the vocal. Though my scratching skills are rather humble, I’m pretty pleased with the way it turned out. Listen, download, and comment!
